More Ideas On A National Organization

Here Is a drawing of a suggested decal for our insulator collecting hobby. I thought this might be used as an enticement for others to send in suggestions for a decal. Maybe you already have several on file, but I believe it is time we started thinking of our own recognization sticker. Several drawings could be presented to a panel of judges at the National Insulator Meet at Kansas City, or a group of judges could be selected by the Crown Jewels to select one that could possibly be ready for the National Meet. I would like your thinking on this.

Your note in the August issue of Crown Jewels on the forming of a National Club is a well needed reminder for all of us to get to work on thoughts about this subject. The hobby has grown to a large enough number that the benefits derived from an organization would be profitable to all of us. An ethical code could be worked out on grading insulators, functions of mail auctions, procedures at swap meets, determining count of insulator collections, advertisement of insulators, opportunity to return insulators, etc. Also, the organization would be a factor in exposing reproductions, keeping up to date lists of names and addresses of active insulator traders, and many more advantages that would make our hobby more enjoyable.

Many good suggestions have already been sent in by readers and published In the Crown Jewels. I hope these can all be organized and that something will be developed at the National Meet.
